My Ultimate Forecast About iPad 2 Specification

Many rumors are popping up about iPad 2 specification in these days. It's pretty hard to believe that Apple would release a new version of the iPad without seriously updating the specs, especially now that there will be considerably more competitors in the tablet market by the time that the iPad 2 rolls around. As a royal iPad fan, I want to give my analysis about those rumors about iPad 2 specification.

9.7'' screen size

As an iPad app developer, I can't see any info in iOS 4.3 beta that iPad 2 may have a different size screen. So I firmly believe that iPad 2 will keep 9.7'' screen.

2048*1536 resolution with iPhone 4 Retina display

No! I believe iPad's display will be improved in other ways - brighter, better power consumption, thinner, perhaps. But it's not 2048 ? 1536 or any other "super high resolution".

Apple expects to sell approximate 17million iPads in 2011. It's impossible to expect a retina display at 9.7 inch with that many units. Keeping the screen at 1024?768 allows Apple to keep its price advantage over other tablet PC while keeping high margins. Though there are some other tablet PCs will have better than 132 dpi resolution, but Apple will beat them in other ways.

SD card slot in iPad 2

No! No any Apple products have ever SD card slot, neither will iPad 2. Apple needs customer to sync the data through iTunes. So SD card slot is really un-Apple!

Two cameras in iPad 2 - 5MP rear camera and a VGA quality front camera

I think it's reasonable to have front camera in iPad 2 to support FaceTime, which has been asked by lots of iPad users. But a rear camera seems not so necessary because it will be weird to use a 9.7'' device to take photos.

dual-core A5 processor with 1G RAM memory

iPad 2 will definitely have better processor and more memory for faster and more stable performance. Dual-core processor and larger memory may impose more pressure on iPad 2 sold price, but it will bring user better experience.

New material for half-weight iPad 2

No. Apple will introduce some new nutshell material in future iPad, but for iPad 2, I suspect that. Whatever my forecast it is, and whether it's wrong or correct. In the coming March, everything will be clear. For your reference, I list my iPad 2 spec forecast and other tablet PC specs below:

Dress Up Your iPad With Zaggmate: Learn About These 3 Features and What It Can Do for Your iPad

With the holiday season just passed you must have received this new revolution that everyone wants to include in their collection of gadgets, the Apple iPad. And now that you've got it, it's time to dress up your iPad with ZAGGmate. Since you have spent a lot of time with your new toy already, you must have seen how very functional it is and how much you want to consider it as your ultimate buddy. But, if you're the type of person who loves blogging and writing, there is one thing you wished that the iPad would have had. A physical keyboard, as you wouldn't want to keep typing in your screen when you create a blog or an article. Worry no more as I will give you some features when you dress up your iPad with ZAGGmate as it hasn't only got the keyboard but it can do a lot more for your iPad.

Maximum protection. You only want the best for your ultimate buddy and you wouldn't do anything to protect so might as well dress up your iPad with ZAGGmate to give it the maximum protection it needs because it's aluminum-made. Hence, people have considered it the perfect companion for your iPad. It is made from aircraft aluminum with a bead-blasted anodized finish matching the design of your iPad and it only adds about one-fourth of an inch to the iPad.

Ease of use. Dress up your iPad with ZAGGmate to make it a lot easier to handle with its simple yet innovative hinge that provides viewing and typing angles in both portrait and landscape mode. You have been using your iPad a lot already being it so handy so why not give it a rest and place it somewhere safe and still get the same benefit when you're on the go.

Protects your screen. Dress up your iPad with ZAGGmate to protect your screen from being overused as the option of a built-in physical keyboard allows for fast, responsive typing. When you use your iPad all the time, it gives you some relief when you get to rest its screen from being touched. Using the keyboard with the ZAGGmate makes it a lot easier to feel the actual keyboard when typing rather than the screen of your iPad.

Having an iPad is like having your life in the palm of your hand. And you would even hear people say that they can't live without their iPads. You love it so much you want the best protection you can get to lure it away from any damage it can possibly get. When you dress up your iPad with ZAGGmate, it doesn't only give your mate the protection but the feeling of security for yourself.

iPad 2 - Everything You Need to Know About the Home Screen

The iPad and iPad 2 device's Home Screen is essentially the "Home Base" of your device. You can run here whenever you feel the need to "start over", escape from something you didn't mean to get into or even to search for something saved on your iPad. This is the place where you access all of the applications that came with you iPad 2, as well as the apps that you have downloaded on your iPad. Surprisingly, the iPad device can handle multiple Home Screens, a feature that is usually used when people want to organize their apps by category. The later OS versions allow you to even group your apps into particular folders on the Home Screen.

Moving Between Multiple Home Screens

To move from one iPad Home Screen to the next, you will need to swipe your finger across your iPad in the left or right direction. This motion will automatically make the next screen (probably full of apps) appear.

Customize the Layout on Your iPad 2

To reorganize the icons (apps) on your iPad's screen, touch any app and hold your finger down on it for a few seconds. You will see that all the apps on the current screen will begin to shake rapidly and have a black "X" symbol appear on the upper left-hand corner of the app. This feature allows you to then press and hold any app that you want to move and simply slide it into the position of your choice. To take an app to a different home screen altogether, slide the app all the way to the left or right side of the screen and you will find yourself on the next available Home Screen. If you are moving an app that is used frequently, you may want to move it down to the "dock" so that it appears on each Home Screen.

Deleting Apps on Your iPad 2

Deleting apps on your iPad is a lot easier than you probably imagined. All you have to do is press your finger down on any app until the apps start rapidly shaking again. Look for the black "X" on the upper left-hand corner of the app you wish to delete and tap it. You will be asked if you want to delete this app. Select "yes" and the app will be instantly deleted.

Once you have moved each app in the desired position, press the Home button and you will have a Home Screen with a fresh, organized look and feel.

Often times, your browsing the internet on your iPad or iPad 2 can be easier when using an iPad case. iPad cases allow you to get a better hold on your device and some even come with multiple viewing angle stands. Top Five Questions and Answers About the iPad 2G

The iPad 2G, also known simply as the iPad second generation, is the Apple iPad 2, the successor to the older and slightly flawed iPad first generation. The iPad 2G features some significant improvements in apps, utility and the "fun" factor, but many buyers are wary of purchasing it because they don't know what all is included.

After doing some extensive research into the iPad 2G, I've determined that it really is a great improvement over the iPad 1G. So I thought I'd help your purchasing decision along by presenting you with the top five questions first-time buyers have about this device along with answers that will help you determine if this model is for you.

1. Question: Can I get a Wifi-only version of the iPad 2G, or do I have to buy a data plan?

Answer: You can absolutely buy the Wifi-only model. In fact, it's about $130 less than the 3G-enabled version in any size or color, so you'll save a lot of money by making this decision.

2. Question: Are there really two cameras on the iPad second generation?

Answer: Yes, there really are two cameras. One sits at the top center of the iPad on the front side. This is the one you'll use to take pictures of yourself or project your face to another person when using Facetime, which is like Skype. The other camera is on the backside of the iPad and allows you to shoot HD video clips.

3. Question: Do I get locked into a data plan contract with the 3G version of the iPad?

Answer: No, you don't. You sign up for monthly data plans on your iPad 2G, then cancel them whenever you're finished. You pay by the month through AT&T or Verizon. AT&T offers data plans that cost $10 to $15 per month while Verizon offers data plans costing $10 to $20 per month. The more data you buy, the less the contract costs in each case.

4. Question: Does the iPad come with a cover?

Answer: No. It might sound like a silly question, but the way Apple advertises their new iPad would lead one to believe the new Smart Cover really comes with it. But it is sold separately for $39. It comes in several different colors and snaps magnetically to the front of the iPad.

5: Question: Which size model is best for the price?

Answer: The Wifi-only iPad 2 in the 16GB model is the best deal. You can get this iPad for $499. You'll raise yourself $100 as you progress through the model sizes. While this is still pretty steep, it's worth it for all the storage you get and the fact that it acts as an HD camera.

I know that's a lot to digest all at once, but if you're really serious about getting the iPad 2G, those are my recommendations. But before you buy, there's a couple more things you really need to find out before making the plunge into your purchase. I've detailed these features here at http://www.squidoo.com/ipad-new/, and I highly recommend reading them before purchasing your new device.
